STMA Mayor, Lawyer FF Faidoo, Acts to Ease Kojokrom Road Traffic After Viral Video

Image
Following a viral video posted yesterday exposing the poor state of the Kojokrom road and the heavy traffic it caused, the Mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Lawyer FF Faidoo, has moved quickly to tackle the problem. This morning, under the Mayor’s instructions, the Department of Urban Roads began temporary reshaping works on the affected section. The works involve dredging, grading, leveling, and filling major potholes to improve traffic flow and ease delays for commuters and residents. The Mayor personally visited the site to oversee the emergency intervention, stressing that while this is only a short-term fix, a permanent reconstruction is already being planned in collaboration with the Ministry of Roads and Highways. He also expressed gratitude to the CEO of JustMoh Company for supporting the effort by supplying a 0-40 stone base to fill damaged portions of the road. Enduring Trials, Receiving the Crown — A Reflection on James 1:12

Image
James 1:12 (KJV): “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” Expository Explanation: 1. “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation”    – Blessed means spiritually favored and joyful, not just in circumstances but in the eyes of God.      – Endureth temptation refers to remaining steadfast through trials, testing, and even temptations that challenge faith and obedience. 2. “For when he is tried”    – This means after the person has been tested or proven.      – The phrase implies a process — a refining, like metal in fire — that reveals genuine faith. 3. “He shall receive the crown of life"      – This “crown” isn’t a physical object but a symbol of eternal reward and honor.      – The crown of life refers to the eternal life God grants to faithful believers. It's often seen ...

Central Regional Public Relations Officer, Madam Esther Njorla, spoke to the media and emphasized that any individual or group found guilty of tampering with or moving ECG meters, electricity wires, or cables without proper authorization will face criminal prosecution. She stressed that electricity meters, wires, and cables are ECG property and must only be installed, relocated, or serviced by certified personnel. Unauthorized activities, she noted, often result in faults, power theft, or even electrical fires, putting lives and property at risk. Madam Njorla encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity related to meter, electricity wires, or cables transfers and u...

Cocoa Sacks and Cameras: When Dignity Died with the Dead

Image
In the annals of national tragedy, August 6th, 2025, will be remembered not only for the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight distinguished sons of Ghana, but for something far more disgraceful the stripping away of their dignity in death. Yes, a nation mourns. Yes, grief hangs thick in the air. But how did we become so numb to reverence, so desensitised to human worth, that we thought it appropriate, no, necessary to broadcast their remains live, and even more horrifying, to show their noble bodies shoved into cocoa sacks? Cocoa sacks? For the defenders of the realm? For the leaders, the trailblazers, the men who once wore the nation’s badge with pride? This is not only a tragedy of aircraft or altitude, but of attitude. The accident was sudden. The heartbreak, unimaginable. The silence of their departure, deafening. But what followed was even more deafening; the clatter of camera shutters, the relentless clicking of phones, the livestreams of agony, the footage of bodies,...

The Ghana Armed Forces confirmed that the Z-9 military helicopter, carrying eight individuals including the two ministers, lost contact shortly after departing from Accra en route to Obuasi. The aircraft was also transporting a presidential staffer, Samuel Sarpong, and members of the ministers’ security detail. Emergency response teams were dispatched to the crash site, but the wreckage revealed the devastating loss of all onboard. Behind the Smile — The Silent Struggles of Young Men

Image
In a world that often expects men to be strong, stoic, and emotionally invincible, many young men silently wrestle with battles they cannot easily speak about. Behind every confident smile and composed posture lies the untold stories of pressure, fear, disappointment, and emotional exhaustion. Today, more young men are experiencing depression, anxiety, and identity crises than ever before. Yet, society’s definition of masculinity has made it difficult for them to express vulnerability. They are taught to "man up," to suppress their emotions, and to avoid seeking help — even when they are breaking inside. The pressures are real: the burden of expectations, job insecurity, failed relationships, financial struggles, social comparison, and the internal fear of not being enough. These battles are fought silently — in bedrooms, behind closed doors, and deep within their hearts. But strength isn’t always in silence. It’s in speaking up, reaching out, and allowing oneself to heal. As...

Scenes from the Agona Abodom festival moments before and after rival factions clashed.

Image
What started as a vibrant, joyous celebration in the town of Agona Abodom took a heartbreaking turn when clashes broke out between rival factions during the annual festival. The event, known for bringing together families, friends, and communities in a colorful display of culture and unity, ended in violence, panic, and widespread concern. The festival had begun peacefully, with traditional performances, music, and a strong sense of pride among attendees. Crowds filled the streets, dancing and sharing in the excitement. However, beneath the surface, tensions between opposing groups had been quietly building — and by afternoon, those tensions erupted into open confrontation. Captured in Real Time Photos and videos from the scene (included below) show the stark contrast: smiling faces in the morning, then fear, confusion, and chaos as the day wore on. Screams replaced songs, and what was once a celebration quickly became a scene of people fleeing, shouting, and trying to avoid danger. Ey...

Tragedy Strikes Agona Abodom: Festival Turns Deadly Amid Renewed Chieftaincy Dispute

Image
What was meant to be a peaceful and joyous celebration in Agona Abodom has turned into a community-wide tragedy. The town, located in the Agona West Municipality of Ghana's Central Region, was plunged into chaos after violent clashes erupted during a traditional festival, leaving three people dead and many others seriously injured. According to reports, the violence stems from a deep-rooted chieftaincy dispute that has plagued the community for more than four decades. Though tensions had appeared to ease following the installation of Nana Osamdade Obrempong XI earlier this year, recent events suggest the conflict is far from over. The Attack: As traditional leaders and residents gathered to celebrate the festival, an opposing faction allegedly hired land guards to violently disrupt the occasion. Eyewitnesses say the assailants stormed the chief’s palace, damaging vehicles, tables, chairs, and other property before clashing with residents. “It was terrifying. We didn’t expect viole...
